A Yellow Affair in London

‘The sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hip hooray…’ and about time too!!

It’s finally Springtime and time to ditch those dull winter colours and put a spring in your step with something bright, bold and beautiful!

As my very first Mother’s Day is around the corner, Boden’s kindly sent me my very first Mother’s Day gift.  I was allowed to pick any item I wanted, and with the days getting longer I wanted something Spring like.

For me Spring time is a yellow affair. The colour is joyous and conjours thoughts of Easter, daffodils and lemon sorbets!  And so I couldn’t resist choosing this gorgeous coat.

So yesterday with the sun blaring down but the air still feeling fresh and cool, I decided to wear my Boden Rainy Day Mac for our little family trip to central.

My outfit choice was inspired by a certain style queen; Audrey Hepburn, and so underneath my bright gorgeous coat I wore a pair of simple black cropped trousers and a black and white shirt with some flats.

With my hair up and my sunglasses tucked away in my little vintage purse our little family hopped onto the underground and headed into central London.

Desperately wanting to see Van Gogh’s Sunflowers at the National Gallery we made sure that was our first stop… A slight yellow theme seemed to be happening!  I wish I could say that Baby London thoroughly enjoyed his first viewing of such an iconic painter’s work.. but alas the boy was asleep!

Two of Van Gogh’s Sunflower paintings have been reunited and are free to view at the National Gallery but only up until 27th April.  So if you like your art make sure you go and see them!

After the National Gallery we sat just in front of the building and enjoyed an ice-cream (well actually it was frozen yoghurt) while we stirred the little man and gave him a feed too!

A bus ride later…

…and we ended up visiting Kensington Palace gardens for a little stroll looking at all the daffodils and enjoying the grounds.

Before heading to Bodos Schloss for a quick bite to eat…

before hopping back on the underground and heading home as the sun went down.

Thank you Boden for sending me such a beautiful coat.  I felt like a proper Yummy Mummy.  And all just in time for my very first Mother’s Day.
