Bloggers Gift Guide

Today I thought I’d bring you my blogger’s gift guide for Christmas 2015.

There’s a range of price tags, so some are mega expensive, while other gifts much more affordable!

1.  Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens from £132.00.

Once you’ve bought your camera body of choice, it’s time to get the right kind of lens to get that perfect bloggers look.  The 35mm lens gives your subject matter sharp focus while blurring out the background.  Plus as it’s a small lens it’s nice and easy to transport and carry around, even with a big bulky body.  I own the Nikon D3200 and mainly use this lens.  It fits in my handbag and I take it pretty much everywhere.  Here’s a link to a similar Canon variety.

2.  Gold Case Cover from £19.99.

Aesthetics are important when it comes to perfecting that Instagram image or flat lay.  A gold cover for my Mac Book Air is high on my list just in case my laptop gets in shot.  Plus the cover protects the most important tool in a bloggers world.

3.  Light Box £16.00

The cost of making sure pictures and images tell a story can be quite pricey for a blogger.  Having a customisable product that you can turn into what you need it to, is a helpful tool.  With the ability to change the words to convey an emotion or a milestone, this light box will be well used!

4. Faux Fur Throw £175.00

Having a go to back drop that’s also practical is a dream for a blogger.  This faux fur throw from The White Company is not only a welcome addition for the sofa or on the end of a bed, but it’ll add much needed texture to pictures.

5.  Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens from £1297.00 (used)

This is on my dream list.  This will be the only other lens I’ll ever need as a professional.  It’s amazing in poorly lit conditions, fabulous from a distance and brilliant at reducing blur and capturing sharp high shutter speed images- which is essential really when trying to capture images of toddlers or moving objects.  The range is just incredible, plus the body is weather resistant.  Yes, it’s ridiculously expensive, but if you want to take your photography to the next level you might as well go straight onto this once you’ve perfected using the smaller lens above.  Here’s a similar Canon version.

6.  The Bloggers Planner £22.00

This bloggers planner will not only help keep a blogger on track, but it’ll also be a bit of eye candy for pictures again.  The front cover can be customised, so you can have the blog name emblazoned across it, and inside it’ll help to keep them focused with monthly stat figures, quotes and reminders with regards to blog posts and videos.

    • I reaaaaalllyyyy want it. I may have to sell my OH on the streets of Soho. Would be totally worth it! 😉 x

    • Tell me about it.. I’d put a new house on the list if I could, one that has a spare room with windows all round it that I could use as a studio 😉 It ‘might’ be over budget though… hahaha x

    • I’m hoping to just eve the page open so my other half gets the hint… even then I know it won’t work lol x

  1. I like the light box! Do you get multiple letters for that price or do you have to buy seperate

    • Yes, it comes with 85 pieces, so loads of letters and symbols. I’ve not had a problem yet where I’ve run out of the same letter when coming up with a quote 🙂

  2. I have the same camera as you and the smaller lens too. Would absolutely love the larger lens too but way out of my price bracket right now.

I’m going to treat myself to the bloggers diary but just waiting until they get the Jan 16 starts on their website

Would love a few accessories for photo and that throw looks ideal

    • I really wanted the gold Macbook, but it just wasn’t practical for a blogger as there was no wear to put any camera cards without using a USB cable which was irritating.. the cover is my solution 😉

    • Th small one I have and since turning my camera setting to manual and properly learning how to use it, it has made a huge difference! Th big one is my dream lens- oh one day! lol x

    • I’ve never tried putting pictures in it. The letters slide in and out, so if you had some way of making a picture the right size and the back ground was fairly light I don’t see why it wouldn’t illuminate a picture. xx

    • I usually get an eye roll, but I’m gonna be annoyingly persistent the closer to xmas it gets 😉 x

    • So true actually, I really need a new mobile- I’m waiting for my contract to end so I can upgrade. My camera phone takes the worst pictures ever!

  3. Great wishlist! I would definitely love the Canon versions of those lenses
